Purushottam Maas – Day 29 Katha

The Fruit of Unwavering Devotion

Day 29 Theme

“Bhagwan never forgets the devotion offered with a pure heart.”

As Purushottam Maas approaches its conclusion, Day 29 reminds us that every prayer, every chant, every act of charity, and every moment of devotion offered during this sacred month is noticed by Bhagwan.

Even when the results are not immediately visible, sincere devotion always bears fruit at the right time.

The Katha of the Elderly Devotee

Long ago, in a small village, lived an elderly devotee named Ramdas. He had spent most of his life worshipping Lord Vishnu and serving others.

Despite his devotion, his life was filled with hardships. He remained poor, his health weakened with age, and many people questioned his faith.

Some villagers would ask:

“You have worshipped Bhagwan for so many years. What have you gained?”

Ramdas would simply smile and reply:

“I have gained peace in my heart.”

Every Purushottam Maas, Ramdas observed fasting, performed charity according to his ability, and spent hours chanting the holy names of Bhagwan.

One evening during the sacred month, while sitting in prayer, he silently wondered:

“Prabhu, have I truly served You well?”

That night, he had a divine vision.

He saw a radiant path leading to a magnificent realm. There he beheld Lord Krishna surrounded by divine light.

Bhagwan smiled and said:

“Ramdas, every prayer, every act of kindness, and every moment of faith offered with sincerity has reached Me. No devotion is ever wasted.”

Tears of joy filled Ramdas's eyes.

When he awoke, he felt a deep peace unlike anything he had experienced before.

From that day onward, he stopped worrying about rewards and focused only on loving and remembering Bhagwan.

And everyone who knew him learned:

The greatest reward of devotion is closeness to Bhagwan.
