Greetings From Shokesh,
To all the amazing people out there!!!
As we all know that season of festivals, magic and spark is here, which means winter season is here which also means that dry skin, chapped lips, Cracking, Itchiness, Redness, Sensitivity, and breakouts season is here as well, and that is why itтАЩs so important to have a proper winter skin care routine.
Depending on your skin type, some seasons and climate conditions may work better for you. If you have dry skin, for example, you might favour a humid climate over a dry one. However, nearly all skin types struggle a little during the winter, calling for a winter-specific skin care action plan.
Therefore, we are here with some tips for winter skin care so you can keep your skin healthy moisturized and looking good all season long.
1. Keep Yourself Hydrated
Even though we feel less thirsty in winter, itтАЩs important to stay hydrated. drinking water has many health benefits, including keeping the appearance of your skin younger and fresher.
2. Lukewarm Water Instead of Hot Showers
During winters, hot showers and baths are an absolute treat. However, the after effects can be really bad for your skin. So, while washing your face and hands, opt for lukewarm water to avoid losing natural oils from the skin.
3. Moisturizing is the key
We typically advise having a different skincare regimen for the spring/summer and fall/winter months because your skin has different needs depending on its environment. Upgrade to a thicker, if not oil-based (depending on your skin type, of course!) daily moisturizer to help nourish, hydrate and protect the skin from harsh conditions outdoors. Indulge in richer body lotions to prevent the rest of your skin from uncomfortable dryness or cracking. And if you think your skin needs an extra kick besides that facial moisturizer, look into investing in a protective cream for added defence and/or a night cream.
4. Exfoliation
Regular exfoliation is very important, since the skin barrier function slows in winter, dead skin cells are more likely to build up. This is what gives your skin the dry, flaky appearance thatтАЩs notorious in winter. Therefore, gentle exfoliation on a daily basis to remove winter skin build-up is necessary.
Be kind to your skin. Skin needs exfoliation on a regular basis, but hold off on the grittier or harsher scrubs. Because your skin is more delicate, and anything abrasive can further irritate it, reach instead for something like gentle, non-abrasive to help your skin of any dulling build-up and promote healthy, cell turnover rate. ItтАЩs the key to radiant, glowing skin, even in the wintertime.
5. SPF ( Sun Protection)
We need sun protection all year round - even in cold or cloudy weather. While UV rays are less direct in winter they are still at a level that can be harmful and aging. The ideal is to go for a formulation you can add to your daily skincare routine with ease.
