- What is share and bonds ?
Shares and bonds are two common types of financial instruments that companies use to raise capital. 1. **Shares (Stocks):** - Shares represent ownership in a company. When you buy shares of a company, you become a shareholder and own a portion of that company. - Companies issue shares to raise capital for various purposes, such as expansion, research, or debt repayment. - There are two main types of shares: common shares and preferred shares. Common shareholders typically have voting rights in company decisions, while preferred shareholders usually have a fixed dividend but may not have voting rights. - Example: If you buy 100 shares of Company ABC, and the company has a total of 1,000 shares outstanding, you own 10% of the company. 2. **Bonds:** - Bonds are debt securities that companies issue to raise funds. When you buy a bond, you are essentially lending money to the issuer in exchange for periodic interest payments and the return of the principal amount at maturity. - Bonds have a fixed interest rate, known as the coupon rate, and a specified maturity date when the principal is repaid. - Unlike stocks, bondholders don't own a stake in the company; they are creditors and have a claim on the company's assets in case of bankruptcy. - Example: Company XYZ issues a bond with a face value of $1,000, a coupon rate of 5%, and a maturity of 10 years. If you buy this bond, you will receive $50 per year in interest (5% of $1,000), and after 10 years, you will get back the $1,000 face value. In summary, shares represent ownership in a company with the potential for capital appreciation, while bonds are debt instruments that pay periodic interest and return the principal at maturity. Both play crucial roles in corporate finance and investment portfolios, offering different risk and return profiles.

From debit to credit, prepaid to secured, each type of financial card serves a unique purpose. Let's embark on a journey to decode the intricacies of these cards and understand how they contribute to our daily financial transactions. 1. **Debit Cards:** Debit cards are the workhorses of personal finance. Linked directly to a bank account, they allow users to access and spend the funds available in their accounts. Debit cards are commonly used for everyday purchases, ATM withdrawals, and online transactions. The absence of credit involved makes them a popular choice for those who prefer real-time, budget-friendly transactions. 2. **Credit Cards:** Credit cards offer a line of credit to cardholders, allowing them to borrow money up to a predetermined limit. Credit cards provide flexibility, convenience, and various perks such as cashback rewards, travel benefits, and purchase protection. Responsible use of credit cards can contribute to building a positive credit history, influencing future borrowing opportunities. 3. **Prepaid Cards:** Prepaid cards function by loading a specific amount of money onto the card in advance. These cards are not linked to a bank account, providing a controlled spending environment. Prepaid cards are useful for budgeting, travel, and teaching financial responsibility, making them a popular choice for parents managing their children's allowances. 4. **Secured Cards:** Secured credit cards are tailored for individuals looking to establish or rebuild their credit. To open a secured card, the cardholder must provide a cash deposit as collateral, usually equivalent to the card's credit limit. Secured cards offer a pathway to demonstrating responsible credit behavior and can be a stepping stone to obtaining an unsecured credit card in the future. 5. **Charge Cards:** Charge cards are similar to credit cards but come with a distinct feature – they require the cardholder to pay the full balance each month, with no option for carrying a balance over time. These cards often lack a preset spending limit, providing flexibility for users who can manage to pay the full amount due regularly. 6. **Contactless Cards:** In an era of technological advancements, contactless cards have gained popularity. These cards allow users to make transactions by simply tapping the card on a compatible card reader. This enhances transaction speed and offers a more convenient and hygienic option, especially in times of increased awareness about contactless interactions. 7. **Business Credit Cards:** Tailored for entrepreneurs and business owners, business credit cards provide a dedicated line of credit for business-related expenses. They often come with features like expense tracking, employee cards, and rewards programs designed to benefit businesses. Business credit cards can help separate personal and business finances while offering perks and rewards tailored to professional needs. 8. **Rewards Cards:** Within the realm of credit cards, there exists a diverse array of rewards cards. These can include cashback cards, travel rewards cards, and points-based cards. Users earn rewards based on their spending, which can be redeemed for cash, travel, merchandise, or other benefits. Choosing the right rewards card depends on individual preferences and spending habits. 9. **Affinity Cards:** Affinity cards are credit cards that are co-branded with a specific organization, charity, or brand. Cardholders not only enjoy the regular benefits of a credit card but also contribute to the affiliated cause or organization with each transaction. These cards allow users to align their spending with their values and support a cause they believe in. 10. **Student Credit Cards:** Designed for students with limited credit histories, student credit cards offer a pathway to establishing credit. They often come with lower credit limits and may include educational resources on responsible credit use. Student credit cards can be a valuable tool for building financial responsibility and preparing for future financial endeavors. 11. **Virtual Cards:** In the digital age, virtual cards have gained prominence. These are not physical cards but rather digital representations used for online transactions. Virtual cards enhance security by providing a unique set of card details for each transaction, reducing the risk of fraud and unauthorized use. 12. **Entertainment and Lifestyle Cards:** Some credit cards cater specifically to certain lifestyles or interests. For example, there are credit cards that offer exclusive access to events, discounts on entertainment, or benefits related to specific hobbies. These cards provide a tailored experience for individuals who want their credit card to align with their personal interests. Conclusion: The world of financial cards is vast and diverse, offering a card for nearly every financial need and lifestyle. From basic debit cards for daily transactions to specialized rewards cards and business credit cards, the choices can be overwhelming. Understanding the features, benefits, and potential drawbacks of each type empowers consumers to make choices that align with their financial goals and preferences. This blog aims to shed light on the causes of mass hair fall and provide practical solutions to address this concern. Causes of Mass Hair Fall: 1. **Genetic Factors:** - Family history plays a crucial role in determining hair health. If there's a history of hair loss in your family, you may be predisposed to mass hair fall. 2. **Hormonal Imbalances:** - Fluctuations in hormones, especially during pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, or conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can lead to excessive hair shedding. 3. **Nutritional Deficiencies:** - Inadequate intake of essential nutrients such as iron, zinc, vitamins A and D can contribute to weakened hair and increased hair fall. 4. **Stress and Lifestyle:** - Chronic stress, poor sleep, and an unhealthy lifestyle can negatively impact hair health, leading to mass hair fall. Consultation with a healthcare professional is essential to identify and treat these underlying issues. 6. **Overstyling and Harsh Treatments:** - Excessive use of heat styling tools, chemical treatments, and tight hairstyles can damage the hair shaft and lead to increased hair fall. Opt for gentler styling methods and avoid harsh treatments. Solutions to Address Mass Hair Fall: 1. **Nutrient-Rich Diet:** - Ensure your diet includes a variety of nutrient-dense foods, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Consider supplements under the guidance of a healthcare professional if nutritional deficiencies are identified. 2. **Scalp Care:** - Maintain a clean and healthy scalp by using a mild shampoo and conditioner suitable for your hair type. Regular scalp massages can stimulate blood circulation and promote hair growth. 3. **Stress Management:** - Practice stress-reducing activities such as yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises. Allow your hair to air-dry whenever possible, and use wide-toothed combs to minimize breakage. 5. **Consultation with Professionals:** - If you notice a sudden or severe increase in hair fall, consult a dermatologist or a healthcare professional. They can conduct tests to identify underlying issues and recommend appropriate treatments. Conclusion: Mass hair fall can be a challenging issue, but understanding its causes and adopting healthy lifestyle practices can contribute to improved hair health. By addressing the root causes and incorporating positive changes, you can take proactive steps to reduce hair fall and promote a fuller, healthier mane.

DO: WEAR THE CORRECT SIZE… Before anything else in this guide, you need to ensure that you are buying the correct size Blazer! The most important factor that determines if a blazer is the perfect fit for you is the shoulders. Any indentations between your shoulder and the top seam means it is too big for you. Guides Stylist Advice The Insider New to Mr. Draper Stylist Advice Do's And Don't: How to Wear a Blazer Kate DO: WEAR THE CORRECT SIZE… Before anything else in this guide, you need to ensure that you are buying the correct size Blazer! The most important factor that determines if a blazer is the perfect fit for you is the shoulders. Any indentations between your shoulder and the top seam means it is too big for you. Do's And Don't How to Wear a Blazer_Shoulder Fit Similarly, any bunching up in the lapels means the blazer is too small. While altering the overall length of the blazer or it’s sleeves, or even taking it in at the waist can quite easily be done by your trusted tailor, there is not much that can be done about the shoulders. So make sure to buy it right first time. DON’T: LEAVE IN THE SUPPORT STITCHING… Major face-palm moment! This is usually a case of the wearer not knowing they had to remove these pieces of stitching. It is added to keep the Blazers in shape when hanging in store or being transported but you need to remove these before you wear the item. They are usually found across the shoulders, at the vents in the lower back, and in the breast and side pockets. Please, also remove the brand tag from the sleeve, and now your Blazer is fool-proof. You’re welcome! DO: WEAR A T-SHIRT UNDERNEATH... A modern classic. T-shirts underneath Blazers can create the perfect ‘cool’ combination when done right. Do's And Don't How to Wear a Blazer_blazer with t-shirt You don’t want anything too graphic as it makes the outfit look busy, and a V-Neck tee can look like you’re trying too hard. The safest bet is to go with a crew-neck in simple colours. Sometimes a basic pattern like a small stripe can work well too! DON'T: WEAR AN UNTUCKED SHIRT... It just looks a bit messy. An untucked shirt can look great with shorts or jeans for a smart-casual look but when wearing a Blazer, tucked is the only way! If you are aiming for a more relaxed feel then it’s much more stylish to open the top button or two on your shirt. DON'T: WEAR AN UNTUCKED SHIRT... It just looks a bit messy. - Ways to Dress Confident and Classy Yet Trendy
I started my own business in the fashion industry eight years ago as a personal stylist – this would include meeting with women on a one-on-one basis to help them with their wardrobe, perform closet audits, and create looks for them based on their lifestyles that are classy yet trendy. Why classy yet trendy? My number one reason was wanting to help these women feel better about themselves and boost their confidence while dressing classy yet trendy. I’ve always told my clients and readers to dress in what they feel most confident in because – let’s face it – confidence is the best accessory a woman can wear! That’s why we choose classy yet trendy. Confident Businesswoman There have also been several studies done on confidence and dressing; hence the famous quote: “Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.” In one of the most recent studies, The Cognitive Consequences of Formal Dressing subjects who dressed up in suits and more formal wear performed better on tests than people who were dressed more casually – in other words, dressing classy helps you fit the part. Several studies have been done supporting the theory that the way someone dresses has a major impact on their level of confidence. I love this quote by Rachel Zoe: “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”; this is so true. Whether we like it or not, people are making judgments about us based on what we wear every single day. With that said, trends change all the time, so wholly depending on them probably won’t help you become more confident, which is why you have to be classy yet trendy. Do we know that the way you dress impacts your confidence level, so why not up to your game and dress the best you can? Classy yet trendy can best be achieved by a look that’s simultaneously confident and classy yet trendy. I’d like to help you achieve a classy yet trendy style with the 7 simple steps below: 7 Ways to Dress Confident and Classy Yet Trendy Wear what you feel most comfortable in: Wear what you feel most comfortable in Wear what you feel most comfortable in When I say this, I mean it in the literal sense – if you aren’t comfortable wearing 5-inch heels because they seriously aren’t comfortable, then don’t wear them; it’s that simple. But more importantly, I’m referring to how certain garments make you feel when you put them on. Do you feel like yourself a.k.a. comfortable in your skin, or does it make you feel like you’re trying to be someone you’re not? The main goal is to always wear items that make you feel happy and proud of who you are. When you look good, you feel good too. Again classy yet trendy. If you’re not sure what items you feel good about, try and remember a time when you had something on that you loved. Maybe it was a job interview you went on wearing a polished suit and some killer heels. Maybe it was when you were on a date wearing a pretty floral dress, or maybe it was even a casual event such as a picnic with your family. Whatever the event, the reason you remember what you wore is because that outfit must have made you feel good about yourself and fit into the classy yet trendy category. For me, I feel most like myself and most comfortable and confident when I wear jeans, a jacket of some sort, and heels (ALWAYS heels). Why? When I follow this simple outfit formula, I feel my very best and can wear variations of this type of ensemble over and over again. Whatever that is for you (it’s different for everyone), identify it and wear it repeatedly! When you wear what makes you feel your best, your confidence is sure to shine through the classy yet trendy look. Know your body type: Here are the 4 most common body types and my recommendation of how each one should dress: Pear, spoon, or bell (triangle upwards) This body shape describes a person who has hip measurements greater than their bust measurements. If you are this body type, you should consider wearing items that accentuate your waist (as potentially your best feature) while adding a little volume to your upper body. You can do this by wearing brighter colors or prints, and veering away from pieces that are too flowy or boxy which will hide your waistline. Apple (triangle downwards) This body shape describes a person who has broader shoulders and bust than they do hips. This person may consider wearing items that are bigger on top, such as oversized jackets or shirts made of lighter, flowier fabrics. You can opt for a shirt with a flare at the bottom or even add a belt to your look to define or accentuate your waistline. Also, pairing this belted top or flared top with a fitted pair of pants will highlight your curves. Banana, or straight (rectangular) This body shape describes a person who has the same measurements on their hips and bust, and their waistline isn’t exceptionally well defined. The key to dressing this body type is to dress proportionally; that is to say, when choosing your outfits, match the fit of the top and bottom pieces. If you’re dressing flowy on top, dress flowy on the bottom. Another tip would be to add a belt or use contrasting colors between the top and bottom pieces to define your waist. Hourglass (triangles opposing, facing inwards) This body shape (typically presented as the “ideal”) describes a person with hip and bust measurements nearly equal in size and a narrower waist measurement. With this body type, you want something that is going to spotlight your curves, not hide them. Opt for pieces that, even if they’re not tight-fitting, follow your natural silhouette. Try to avoid pieces that are going to accentuate either the top or the bottom significantly more than the other as this may cause unbalance. Emphasize your best features and de-emphasize your least favorites: Emphasize your best features and de-emphasize your least favorites Emphasize your best features and de-emphasize your least favorites Now that you’ve identified which body type you are, you should now consider what your best features are. Do you have pretty long legs? Perhaps you possess a gorgeous long neck and well-defined arms? Or maybe it’s your waistline that’s your best feature? Whatever that is for you, identify it and dress accordingly. You also need to identify your least favorite areas – maybe your waist, hips, or arms. Mine is my height – I’m 5’4”. To work around this, I almost always wear heels and high-waisted ankle-length denim. The heels make me look taller, but the high-waisted ankle-length denim also makes me look taller and thinner – than the style of jeans makes my legs look longer with its higher waistline. I always wear a v-neckline too, which makes me look taller with more skin showing between my waistline and shoulders. It’s these subtle tricks that make the biggest difference! The key is knowing which clothing items to wear that highlight your best features while drawing attention away from those you don’t like. Finally, keep in mind that this is all about making you happy, so your own opinion matters more than what anyone else will tell you. Know what colors look best on you: Know what colors look best on you Know what colors look best on you Based on your hair color and skin tone, certain colors might suit you better than others. After hair color, the undertone is the next most important thing to take into consideration when choosing colors. Does your skin have cool or warm undertones? Don’t know if you’re warm or cool-toned? No problem! There are a few tricks you can use to find out. When looking at the veins in your wrist, greener veins usually indicate warmer undertones, while blue or purple veins indicate cooler undertones. The next test would be what color of jewelry looks best on your skin. If silver looks more natural, you probably have cooler undertones, while gold-looking better indicates warmer undertones. Now that you know your undertones, we can talk about which colors look best on each. Those with cool undertones tend to look better in pastels, lighter colors, and blues of any shade. Those with warm undertones tend to look better in brighter colors, along with any shade of red, orange, or yellow. There is more to choosing your colors than an undertone though. Hair color plays a role as well. Blondes with fair skin might choose jewel tones because these bright colors add extra contrast. On the other hand, if you have darker or olive skin, then warmer colors such as corals and gold could look amazing on you. If you’re a redhead, then you probably look stunning in green, while I think blondes do well with soft summer colors like pink and teal blue. However, if you’re not sure or don’t have personal favorites, you can always go by which color you were wearing when you get the most compliments on your outfit. If someone has ever told you that “you look really good in that color”, consider wearing that color more often! For me, that color is blue – a really pretty teal blue. Now that I think about it, every additional compliment is another reason to make me want to wear that color more often! Find your signature style: Find your signature style Find your signature style I love this quote by Anna Wintour: “Create your style – let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others”. I’ve been told by many people since I was in high school that I have a very particular style, and I couldn’t agree more. From the very young age of four, I’ve loved wearing jeans. I even remember getting my first pair of heels from my sweet neighbor when I was just four years old, and I wanted to wear them every single day! Today, denim and heels are crucial parts of my go-to looks. For that reason, I’m very decisive about what to wear and how to put outfits together. I even named my blog “So Heather” because whenever my friends would see a piece of clothing that looked like something I would wear, they would call it “SO HEATHER!” For some of you, this look may not come as quickly or naturally. If that’s you, my suggestion is to refer back to item number one on this list: go with whatever you feel most comfortable and yourself in, and that’s your answer! Dress for the occasion: Dress for the occasion Dress for the occasion I get tons of emails daily from clients asking what they should wear to a certain event or party. I always ask this question first: what is the dress code? For most parties and events, a dress code is usually listed. If it’s not listed, always err on the dressy side! I always say it’s much better to be overdressed than underdressed. For example, if you’re going for a job interview, the first thing you need to do is find out what type of company it is and what the environment is like. If it follows the traditional corporate style where everyone wears a suit, wear a suit. If the environment carries a more laid-back, business casual vibe, then you could go with that; even so, I would still recommend erring on the dressier side. On the other hand, if you have a wedding to attend, find out where it is and what time of day it is before deciding what to wear. Weather plays a large part in determining what you should wear to certain events, so be sure to check it out before picking out your chic ensemble. When in doubt, seek advice from people who will also be attending the event, and remember – always err on the dressy side! Be trendy on a level that you’re comfortable with: Be trendy on a level that you're comfortable with Be trendy on a level that you’re comfortable with Trying new trends is always fun, and I frequently recommend trying new things out. However, don’t invest a ton into trends, especially if will only wear them for a short time. Trends come and go, so try out just one or two a season – ones that you love and will wear from time to time. Again, this depends on what you’re comfortable and most confident in – if you find something trendy that you feel very confident in, then by all means wear it! However, if you’re not sure or hesitant about trying a certain trend, there’s probably a reason you don’t fully love it; my recommendation would be to skip it. Remember: just because something is trendy doesn’t mean you have to wear it. Only wear things you love and, more importantly, wear things that make you love how you feel! Confidence is our best accessory and the way we dress impacts our confidence. My goal is still the same as when I started my own business seven years ago. To help women look and feel their best. That’s why my best suggestion is a look that’s confident and classy yet trendy. I hope these seven above tips help you achieve just that! In English, nakshatras are known as “lunar mansions.” Pushya is the eighth of 27 nakshatras. If you were born when the moon was between 3:20-16:40 degrees Cancer, then this guide is for you. You’ll learn all about your strengths, weaknesses, compatibility, ideal careers, and more. Sanskrit Name: पुष्य (Pushya) comes from the Sanskrit word पोष (nourishing). One meaning of Pushya is “one who nourishes,” indicating vitality, strength, and a warm, caring nature. Planetary Ruler: Saturn. Saturn is the bestower of karmic reaction, the good or bad results of one’s past activities. It is associated with discipline, obstacles, hard work, and philosophy and law. Nakshatra Group: Godly. Nakshatras are divided into three classes — monsters, humans, and gods. Pushya is a godly nakshatra. People in this group are generally good-natured and fortunate in life. However, they may struggle with pride and a sense of entitlement. Zodiac Sign: Cancer. Cancerians are wise and perceptive, gifted in their ability to read other people. They are nurturing, creative, and empathetic. Deity: Brihaspati. Brihaspati is the guru of the gods in Vedic theology. As their spiritual leader, he gives them advice and guidance. Symbol: The udder of a cow, a lotus, or a circle. Respectively, this represents nourishment, auspiciousness, and wholeness. Power: To give spiritual illumination. Spiritual energy is prominent in Pushya, and this energy helps individuals find the Absolute Truth and also creates unity. Resonant Syllables: In India, the birth nakshatra is traditionally used as one means of choosing the name of a child. The corresponding syllables for the four quarters (padas) of Pushya are Hu (हु), He (हे), Ho (हो), and Da (ड). The syllable of a person’s first name is sometimes used when calculating an astrological chart if the time of birth is unknown. Strengths Pushya natives are especially drawn to spirituality. You are devout and faithful in your spiritual practice and may be the source of spiritual inspiration for others. Morality is important to you and you strive to act in a way that aligns with your definition of virtue. You are independent and won’t go along with something if it doesn’t seem right to you. Material pleasures don’t hold that much power over you. Your self-control and austerity allow you to keep your desires and emotions in check, most of the time. You rarely lose your composure. Others don’t need to worry about you imposing your austerity on them, however, for you are very generous. Whatever you have, you’ll want to give away. A keen curiosity leads you to become knowledgeable in many subjects. You are naturally studious. Like most Cancerians, you are incredibly perceptive. You are eloquent and you have a natural talent for self-expression. People like you — your empathic nature and admirable qualities make you rather popular. Pushya Careers You possess excellent people skills. You’ll thrive in careers where you can use these skills and, especially, where you can use your skills to improve people’s lives in some way. Some ideal professions include: Politician Musician, artist, or chef Teacher or counselor Member of the clergy or other religious occupation Nonprofit or charity worker Weaknesses The downside of Pushya’s nature is your tendency to be proud, haughty, and incredibly stubborn. You refuse to acknowledge when you might be wrong and are often unwilling to consider other ways of thinking. This can make you dogmatic and quick to anger. Much of this stems from the insecurity that haunts you within — once you come to terms with yourself, it will be easier for you to be at peace with the world around you. You can be too talkative in your efforts to gain attention and approval. You may fill the conversation with your own thoughts and opinions without considering whether or not they are really wanted. Despite the self-control you generally display, there is a side of you that struggles with lust. Sex and other material pleasures can start to consume you if you let them. When you let your desires get the better of you, you can also be quite jealous. One of the things in life that give you the most pleasure is your own family — your love for them is profound, but your attachment to them can get out of hand. Ultimately, everyone has their own life to live. You may struggle to let them live their own lives — and may let your attachment to them hold you back from living yours. Recommended: Learn more about your moon sign, Cancer. Other Personality Traits Your approach to life is systematic. You have a plan and you have the ability to stick to it. It’s unlike you to feel lost for too long — you usually know what your next step is. You possess great spiritual depth. Pushya is considered by many to be the best nakshatra for spiritual growth. You ask hard-hitting questions about life, its purpose, and its connection to something greater. It’s likely that you will find the answers, too. You might miss the big picture. Your stubborn nature sometimes blinds you. You can be so dedicated to people or beliefs that you don’t see how they connect to and affect a greater sphere. You may be overly protective of loved ones. Your loyalty and dedication to friends and especially family is admirable, but you can take it too far. Be careful not to stifle them in your eagerness to look out for them. Pushya Compatibility Pushya's sexuality is symbolized by a male sheep. In terms of physical compatibility, this makes them an ideal match for persons born under Krittika nakshatra. Based on holistic matching, Pushyas are most likely to find happiness in long-term partnerships with: Mrigashiras in Taurus Punarvasus in Cancer Pushya Ashlesha Vishakhas in Scorpio Anuradha Jyeshta Shravana (for male natives) Purva-bhadrapadas in Pisces Revati Note: Compatibility in relationships is a complex science that looks at many different factors. You should always consult with an experienced astrologer who can carefully analyze the charts of both you and your partner. Pushya’s Four Quarters (Padas) Each Nakshatra is divided into four quarters, also known as padas, of 3:20 degrees each. These quarters are based on a 1/9th divisional chart, known in Sanskrit as navamsha. The moon’s position at your time of birth determines the quarter in which you are born. First Quarter (3:20-6:40 degrees Cancer): Leo. You are motivated and will probably achieve a lot. Your family heritage is likely to play a significant role in your life. You may deal with a number of hardships, but your strength will help you persevere. Second Quarter (6:40-10:00 degrees Cancer): Virgo. You are practical and efficient. Your intelligence wins you respect and helps you accomplish things successfully. One of your talents is cooking — friends and family can always count on you for a good meal. Third Quarter (10:00-13:20 degrees Cancer): Libra. Patient by nature, you take your time making decisions and don’t rush into things hastily. You are balanced in your approach to life in general. However, your dislike for conflict and shaking up the status quo can lead you to conform too readily. Fourth Quarter (13:20-16:40 degrees Cancer): Scorpio. Your curiosity often leads you into obscure or esoteric realms. Others may not always “get” you. Compromise is not something you are fond of, and you may come across as intolerant. You can tend to be nervous. Pushya in Electional Astrology In electional astrology, also known as Murtha, nakshatras are used to determine favorable days and times for important ceremonies and events, such as weddings, buying a new house or vehicle, commencing a project, or conceiving a child. The electrical nature of Pushya is Kshipra or Laghu, “swift” and “light.” Pushya is an excellent nakshatra for: Beginning a journey Undergoing a medical operation Learning something new Athletic events and competitions Performing any healing work

- Durga Puja to Navratri to Dussehra – A Celebration of Women Empowerment
Righteous, righteous, and brave! Maa Durga, the Divine Mother and the goddess of power who represents “shakti,” guards everyone against harm and pain. Be it the Bengali Durga Puja, Gujarati dandiya, or the grand Mysore Dasara celebrations that commemorate the destruction of demon king Mahishasura — these festivals bring the country together in the triumph of good over evil. The common thread that ties them all together? The devotion, enthusiasm, and sincerity of the people. Whether it is the months of preparation for Durga Puja pandals or the 75-day-long tribal celebration in Bastar – every state has its own stories. Moreover, these festivities prove several ways devotees worship Goddess Durga. Hindu mythology introduces Durga as the fearless, formidable warrior goddess who slays a vicious demon after he has been rendered invincible by any man or god. Her three fierce eyes, her ten hands holding ten weapons, and her ride on the lion depict her unassailable vigor. Today she stands tall as a glaring example of feminine energy on earth, so much so that Durga Puja has become a celebration of women and “Durga”, a synonym for women’s empowerment! The Legend of Durga The lore goes back to the half-buffalo demon, Mahishasur who did severe penance to please Lord Brahma. Seeing his devotion, Lord Brahma appeared and granted him a wish. Mahishasur wished that he be made the supreme power on earth, and in heaven – no man would be able to defeat him! Lord Brahma had to reluctantly grant his wish. Soon enough, Mahishasur became all-powerful and fearless, he wreaked destruction across earth and heaven. The devas of heaven collectively raised their concerns to Lords Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The three gods combined their powers to create a warrior ‘woman’ who would vanquish the demon, and Durga was created. She was the one-woman army who was bestowed with multiple weapons and powers from the devas, each sharing a copy of their own weapon. Vishu gave her his Sudarshan Chakra, Shiva gave her the Trishul, Ganesha gave her the sword, and so forth. Goddess Durga slays the half-buffalo demon, Mahishasur Durga on her lion descended from the heavens and reached Mahishasur’s palace. In a harrowing 10-day battle, Durga fought fiercely and unleashed her divine wrath to destroy the demon’s various forms before beheading him on the 10th day. Durga is one of the best examples of a single entity embodying Ferocity as well as Compassion. Equal parts Destroyer and Creator, Durga’s life and story provide invaluable learnings for women of all ages, and within them resides the ability to be protectors and caregivers. Durga Puja in West Bengal Although the festival takes different forms in different parts of the country, the central theme of worshipping the female form of power remains consistent. The theme is most prominent in West Bengal, where the celebration is dedicated to breaking the norms of patriarchy and social taboos around women. The modern-day pandals are themed to glorify the various roles a woman takes up in her life – from a dedicated mother, wife, and sister to a boss woman at work! Durga Puja will be observed from October 1, 2022, to October 5, 2022. Kolkata Durga Puja pandal pays tribute to the sex workers. Sindoor Khela, which was previously a forte of married women, is open to all today – the sex workers, the transgender women as well as widows. In fact, the sex workers of Kolkata are endowed with the responsibility of organizing pandals in Sonagachi, the city’s red light area. In the year 2018, the world’s first street graffiti art was unveiled which highlighted the struggles of these women and fought for their rights. One of the puja committees dedicated the year’s pandal to this theme, and special invitations were extended to these women to judge the puja competitions and participate in the various rituals. Sindoor Khela Durga Puja will be observed from October 1, 2022, to October 5, 2022. The nine days of celebration in Kolkata are all about lauding the spirit and beauty of the feisty women of Bengal who are known for their gender-neutral relationships! The ritual, known as Kanya Puja, is hosted on the eighth and ninth days of Navratri. Kanya Puja on , Navmi The puja is traditionally performed by washing the feet of the girls, offering them new clothes, stationery items, and cosmetics as gifts, and serving them the puja feast (a meal of halwa, chana and puri) before the other members of the house consume the same. It is believed that worshipping the little girls would give the devotees manifold returns for the prayers due to the feminine power vested in the girl child, who is considered to be the purest in Hindu mythology. Kanya Puja is performed in several parts of North India, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Navratri: A Celebration of Women Navratri is predominantly a celebration of women – the ‘Shakti worship’ or divine feminine power, where the female goddess is worshipped in all her manifestations. One can appreciate the deep symbolic significance of the festival in the current times, and how powerfully it resonates with the concept of modern-day women empowerment! Navaratri in 2022 will begin on Monday, 26 September, and will end on Wednesday, 5 October. To quote Feminism in India, “Maa Durga thus becomes a wonderful dichotomy that the society approves and ascribes to – she fiercely protects us from evil but she also looks after her family with love and care. Maa Durga successfully becomes a metaphor for modern women.” Navratri in Gujarat Navratri celebrations are essentially characterized by elegant and elaborate Garba festivities in Gujarat. Garba, a Sanskrit word for womb, symbolizes life. And Garba, the folk dance of the state is performed to honor Goddess Shakti or Durga, the feminine form of divinity. Garba dance in Gujarat The significance of Garba for the womenfolk today lies in the fact that no matter the age or stature, they take a well-deserved break and come out from their homes to revel in a night honoring the supreme woman power in an otherwise patriarchal society. Savaari Recommends: Best Places to be in Gujarat during Navratri Vadodara United Way of Baroda The University of Baroda Shishu Sanskrutik Garba Ahmedabad Bhadra Fort Rajpath Club NID/CEPT Gandhinagar Gandhinagar Cultural Forum Ground Rajkot Race Course Khodaldham Surat Ena Navratri Mahotsav Navratri in South India Golu is a dolls festival celebrated during Navratri. It is included in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka celebrations, in addition to Tamil Nadu. It is known as Bommai Golu in Tamil Nadu and Bommana Koluvu in Telugu. It is celebrated to remember the victory of Goddess Parashakti over the evil King Mahishasura. People place a Kalash on the first step of the Golu as a representation of Goddess Parashakti. The Kalash is filled with rice and dal, and a coconut coated with turmeric is placed above the Kalash. People place dolls of gods and goddesses in 3/5/7/9 steps arrangements along with the Kalash. It is believed that the dolls are the court of Goddess Shakti as well as the representation that everything is her creation. The dolls are collected over many years and are often passed on through generations. Golu celebrations in 2022 will begin on Monday, 26 September, and end on Wednesday, 5 October 2022. Vijayadashami/Dussehra Vijayadashami, the last day of Navratri, symbolizes and celebrates Shakti, the all-powerful feminine force. It is observed for different reasons and is celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent. In the southern, eastern, northeastern, and some northern states of India, Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Puja, remembering goddess Durga’s victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma. In the northern, central and western states, the festival is synonymously called Dussehra (also spelt Dasara, Dashahara). In these regions, it marks the end of Ramlila and remembers god Rama’s victory over Ravana. Alternatively, it marks a reverence for one of the aspects of the goddess Devi, such as Durga or Saraswati. This is how some states in India commemorate women empowerment with its celebration. In 2022, Vijayadashami will be celebrated on 5th October. Bastar Dussehra, Chhattisgarh Also known as Jagdalpur Dussehra, the festival is dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari Devi, and is a celebration of women empowerment. The grandeur of the festival concludes in the spectacular last ten days of Dusshera. Although the festival is popularly called Dusshera, the locals do not celebrate the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. Rather, the festivities and rituals pay homage to Goddess Danteshwari, one of the 52 Shakti Peeths existing in the country. The celebrations go on for 75 days and it is the longest celebration in the world. You can read more about it here – Bastar Dussehra – The World’s Longest Celebration Dussehra in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana While South India has the diverse significance of the festival in its different states, they are all about honoring the divine goddess. Bathukamma, for instance, is the flower festival celebrated in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at this time of the year. Bathukamma in Telugu translates to ‘Mother Goddess come alive. The mother goddess referred to here is Gauri Devi, the mother of Goddess Durga. A festival of feminine felicitation and a celebration of women empowerment, Bathukamma is marked by women dressing up in vibrant attires and dancing in circles around a decorated pot to folk songs. Dussehra in Mysore The Wodeyar King of Mysore worships Goddess Chamundeshwari Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore’s Chamundi Hills is one of the 18 prominent temples of Goddess Chamundi, where a 9-day festival is celebrated to honor the goddess. Chamundi is considered to be the Mother Goddess, the fierce avatar of Durga. As per the legend, with the amalgamation of powers vested in her by the powerful gods, she killed the demon Mahishasur. The hills in Mysore, previously known as Mahabala Hills, were named Chamundi Hills as a tribute to the goddess. by Shabari Shankar | Posted on September 10, 2022, | Durga Puja to Navratri - A Celebration of Women Empowerment (savaari.com)

- Clothing For Monsoon ☔
Safe Monsoon Clothing Monsoon is here....and the dark clouds are taking along the depressing and lifeless feel away from us. Rain makes us feel happier and better. Let's enjoy the rain without worrying about our clothes and accessories as they are getting wet too. Rain hides the sun and moistens the clothes. Let not the rains, however, moisten our spirits and hinder us from missing all of the fun. Here we shall be deliberating all of the factors that are important to dress safely for the monsoons yet look beautiful and cool as ever. Considering the incontrovertible fact that monsoons are wet seasons when things around get massively sloppy we have got to be intensely particular and careful about our selection of clothing and make-up to match it completely. Monsoon Clothing There are certain things that should be kept in mind during monsoon. Knee-length skirts and capris are the best option for this season. We should go for half sleeves or sleeveless and frilly, flowing clothes. Use of synthetic clothes should be increased as they dry easily after getting drenched. All kinds of monsoon germs reside in soiled clothes. Therefore, clothes should be washed as soon as one gets home. Clothes should always be segregated while washing. Light colors like pastels, whites and dark clothes should be washed separately. Most of the white garments contain optical whiteners to give them the desired whiteness. If such clothes are dried in the sun, they will turn yellow or grey in color. Therefore, these should be line-dried in the shade. Many times, due to the moist, clothes start smelling. Scented water can be used in such cases to keep the apparel clean and fragrant. Scented water (like lavender water) should be added to an iron and on steam setting, should be gently wafted over the clothing. It is a great method of getting rid of stinking clothes in monsoon. Naphthalene balls are also of great help to keep the clothes safe from moist. They should be placed in cupboards and in the middle of clothing hangers. During no rains, air the clothes and accessories. This season may damage delicate clothes. We should avoid use of heavy materials like silk and jute. Thick clothing materials like denims, cords, or thick cotton mixes should be avoided as they take a long time to dry. Long flowing skirts and trousers will easily soil in the mud, whereas light colors, pastels and whites tend to get transparent in heavy rains. They also get soiled easily. Clothes that have traditional tie and dye or Rajasthani prints should be kept indoor as they tend to run color when wet. We should strictly avoid use to tight-fitting clothes during this season as they tend to cling to the body when wet. Clingy clothes, apart from being irritable, are extremely uncomfortable to walk around in. If chiffon and crepe are used, they should not be twisted to squeeze out the water as they are delicate fabrics. Too much twisting might damage these fabrics. Hence, we should avoid their use. Shoes and other Accessories Wet shoes should be dried before putting them in a cabinet. However, they should not be dried in direct sunlight. The water should be squeezed out by hand and left under the fan to dry. This will be the best method. Wax shoe polish should be used instead of roll-ons during monsoon. Wax shoe polish repels the water and prevents shoe damage. The sole of the shoes have to be checked. They should not have a flat base as it might lead to slipping on muddy surfaces. Wet shoes should not be worn continuously as they tend to breed fungus and bacteria that can feast on the feet causing infections. Therefore, wet shoes should be dried before using again. Leather or Suede shoes easily get spoilt when they come in contact with water or muck. Open sandals that do not collect water should be preferred, whereas water absorbing footwear should be avoided. Apart from these, gumboots are the best option for monsoon. Fashion experts advice to wear comfortable socks during monsoon. It acts as a barrier between the skin and the wet shoes. Research states that direct contact of leather with the skin can cause bacterial growth. Though they get soaked, its better than not wearing them at all. Accessories also are taken care of during monsoon. Wooden beads should be avoided as they take a long time to dry if wet. Metallic, stones or plastic accessories are advisable during this season. Waterproof handbags are available in markets. Large functional bags are in fashion this season. Large bags with pockets on the outside are preferable as they offer ample space to stuff all the needs from paperwork, umbrella, windcheaters, etc to daily makeup kits. Handbags that cannot be clasped or zipped or shut completely should be avoided. The straps of the handbag should not hand lower than the elbow. Keeping certain things in mind will help us have a safe yet fashionable monsoon this season. By: Isha Tyagi Published : Aug 2012
